PRAYERS FOR TIBET

The picture was taken at night, a street lamp illuminated the crowd from the back. Each person was holding a lit candle. I noticed this Tibetan woman; the light reflected in her eyes and defined her face. The judge valued this clear view of her eyes and her wrinkles, and the 2 separate light sources. The original picture was taken in color, but it is almost monochromatic because the scene was dark. The women was still, focusing on her thoughts and prayers, so I was able to take a deep breath and to shoot a sharp and focused pictures at 1/13 sec with a hand held camera.
